HISTORY

Muslims Against Hunger was created by Zamir Hassan to promote the Islamic value and tradition of feeding the hungry. As per our Islamic teachings, it has been reported that Prophet Mohammad (Peace Be Upon Him) said, “He is not a Muslim who goes to bed satiated while his neighbor goes hungry”. Zamir Hassan felt this need when he visited a soup kitchen in the year 2000 and realized how grave the problem is. He then started a grass-root effort under the banner of Muslims Against Hunger, to feed the hungry in his own backyard.
